What do you, personally, think you will remember most about this interview a year from now?
The thing that I will remember most from this interview a year from now is the advocacy Gina McCarthy has for us as the younger generation. The urgency to address climate change is increasingly pressing, and climate change seems to be very political in the government, and they are the problem, but as the next generation it's up to us to start voting and fighting for a change for the betterment of our future. She also stated that we shouldn't demand solutions, but demand the problem and send signals when solutions are available.
How do you think any aspect of the interview will affect your own future, or society's future?
My awareness of the significance of Gina McCarthy's work and the urgency of addressing climate change can certainly influence the way I process and respond to inquiries related to these topics in the future. By understanding the importance of climate action and the role of individuals, organizations, and governments in addressing it, I can better understand how I can make a change myself and help others to do the same. We're already seeing this happen with many companies creating electrical vehicles and people getting solar panels for energy, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
I completely agree! It is becoming increasingly important that we take measures to slow climate change in the ongoing decades so it doesn't impact us extensive in the long-term.
